Gain a practical understanding of the energetics employed when using Master Tung’s Points. Master Tung Ching Chang was the living heir of a very unique acupuncture system. Though we can utilize our understanding of TCM from the Huang Di Nei Jing, this system stands alone. We’ll start with a brief history of Master Tung and his lineage, introduce Tung’s acupuncture, and provide an overview of the energetics employed when using Master Tung’s Points. We’ll further detail Master Tung’s Point system and review the most commonly used acupuncture points and point combinations.

The embryo develops in 10 stages which the traditional texts describe as phases in the constitution of a living being. The pregnant woman, aware of the innermost movements of blood and qi, protects herself from the risk of imbalance and supports the development of her child through appropriate behaviour in her activities, her diet, her thoughts and emotions.

The body is both a source and a storage site for the emotions, especially after a trauma. Overwhelming traumatic events are subconsciously retained by “Hun” and “Po”. The reactivation of these subconscious emotional and physical memories, are experienced as a variety of psychological and physical manifestations, quite often un-related to a given situation. These conditions may range from un-explained physical pains or physiological reactions, to emotional or psychological manifestations as seen in phobias, personality disorders, panic attacks or PTSD, just to mention a few.

An important component of the Belief mechanisms is represented by personal life experiences, in particular the traumatic events. When a traumatic experience has been too intense or if it has occurred prior to the full development of the limbic structures, the event is relegated to the subconscious mind. Impressions and emotions are registered by Hun, the Ethereal soul, physical sensations and pain are registered by Po the corporeal soul.

The "Temperament" or the habitual psycho-emotional expression of a person depends partly on the transmitted family inheritance and partly on post-natal conditioning.

Course Description

The human basic “Constitution” is transmitted by the parental essences (Jing). In the pre-natal stage, the constitution will influence the preferential development of specific organ systems, thus defining the physiology and the morphology of the person.

This course will introduce students to the theory, history, and practice of Chinese medicine approaches to the recovery from acute viral infections and degenerative after-effects caused by potential autoimmune reactions. The theoretical part of the seminar will utilize traditional Yin-Yang, Five Phase Element and Six Conformation symbolism as well as their relevance for the wuyun liuqi system of seasonal energetics to explain the interrelation of viral outbreaks and specific climate fluctuations.
