Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder characterized by excessive androgen secretion and is linked with obesity, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, and affects up to 17% of women in reproductive age. We have also demonstrated that women with PCOS have epigenetic and transcriptional changes in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue relevant for development of disease3,4.
