This is a module from Jane Lyttleton's complete course: "The Treatment of Infertility".
This course will help you naturally support IVF patients who are currently undergoing western medical care for fertility issues or plan to. Patients these days are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and in response, TCM doctors wishing to treat infertility must be familiar with not only IVF procedures, but how to integrate them into the Traditional Chinese Medicine framework.
Jane Lyttleton takes decades of experience and guides step by step through the IVF process and how to make the most of your TCM fertility skills, in order to improve your patient outcomes and patient confidence in you.
Jane Lyttleton explores the integration of TCM & In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to improve the patient’s success rate of pregnancy and live birth through the IVF process. The ethics and effectiveness of combining TCM and IVF are also presented. Diagnostic methods and treatment options will be discussed in detail, as well be the dilemmas and advantages of combining Chinese medicine with IVF programs. Research is presented on the use of IVF and TCM to support her approach.
This course includes:
- Learning how to talk to your fertility patient by knowing which questions to ask
- The basics IVF protocols and what you need to know
- The strengths and weaknesses of TCM compared to IVF protocols
- TCM Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine protocols to support IVF treatment
Supportive treatment for patients planning to undergo IVF
- Research related to the treatment of fertility using TCM
Jane Lyttleton began her studies in science in NZ and then London with doctoral studies in genetics before succumbing to the siren song of Chinese medicine. She is author of the acclaimed Treatment of Infertility with Chinese Medicine, published in 2004 (2nd ed 2013) by Elsevier Science and now in its 7th reprint in English, and several other languages.
She has lectured at universities in Australia and the UK, and has taught courses and seminars in the treatment of infertility to doctors in Australia, Canada, China, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand and Britain. She has presented at IVF conferences in California and Sydney.
She has always had a keen interest in the way Chinese medicine can be applied to gynecological disorders in a modern western context, and has run TCM clinics in women’s health centres and general medical centres since the early 1980s. In addition to her own busy practice she has established a number of clinics which work closely with IVF clinics and the University of Western Sydney, and are providing the platform for data collection and clinical research.

VERY GOOD CLASS
Great Course! Already using Jane's teachings in my clinic!
Excellent course! Very well organized. The material was incredibly interesting, but the speaker spoke slowly and with frequent pauses that seemed to really drag the presentation out much longer than necessary.
Excellent. Lots of practical information for clinic use.
I always love Jane's classes, they are so easy to understand and use in my clinic.
As always, Jane Lyttleton is a great lecturer
Excellent presentation. Very well organized and an abundance of useful information.
Overall, a great course! An extra bonus could be to add Chinese names to acupuncture points (in the handouts) for practitioners who are not so familiar with the number system. The section on using herbs alongside IVF medication was of particular interest to me and my practice. Unfortunately, IVF doctors here in Cyprus don't share the minimalistic take on drugs given after egg collection as outlined in the course, but that's another story!
First time using site for a recorded presentation. Wonderful!
