Treating the Sensitive Shen Child

Highly sensitive children offer a therapeutic challenge for both parents and caregivers alike, both in diagnosing and even more in treatment. Collecting the information in a sensitive way may be difficult especially when you receive most of the information from the parent that is not always objective, or rather, always not objective! Therefore, the sensitive Shen child demands a specific set of skills in the clinic.

Children are known as very Yang, the common interpretation is that they have hot pathologies, but it is actually much broader and has to do with the phase of life and the fact that they are very connected to their Shen.

Most of the pediatric treatment traditions focus on the disharmonies of the 4 elements and not enough of the fire element. Together with the challenge of observation, the treatment of the Shen in children is often neglected and the sensitive child is left untreated.

The course will focus on the heart type children and especially the sensitive Shen types and their special way of presenting disharmonies.
