YNSA and its Integration to Body Acupuncture in Treating Post-Viral Inflammatory Conditions

products tabs

In this seminar Darrell Wallace teaches practitioners to learn how to use Yamamoto’s New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA) to treat neurological and musculoskeletal issues that result from the acute and chronic inflammation caused by a virus invasion.

As we see more and more post COVID-19 inflammatory syndromes, the presenters want to share their experience treating post viral inflammatory conditions using Divergent Channels, Extraordinary Meridians and auriculo-acupuncture combinations with other palpation-based acupuncture concepts.

Also, for the neurological and musculoskeletal aspect of the post-viral invasion, the addition of YNSA is extremely beneficial and markedly shortens the recovery time.

Goals and Outlines

  • The practitioner will name the YNSA diagnosis protocol.
  • The practitioner will identify the various reflection zones on the skull.
  • The practitioner will identify the various treatment strategies for various joint pains.
  • The practitioner will be able to suggest treatment protocols combining YNSA and body acupuncture.

Darrell’s interest in health began when at 12 years of age he read a book on fasting and health. Recognizing, through changing his food choices, the distinction between health and the absence of disease, he began a lifelong quest to help others achieve their goal of optimal health. As a practitioner of yoga, martial arts and meditation for the past 50 years Darrell infuses his practice and teaching with the understanding that we are all works in progress.

Darrell is a graduate of Williams College and completed pre-medical coursework at Harvard University. Darrell is a board-certified licensed acupuncturist and a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, a 3-year program including additional coursework in Chinese Herbal Medicine to complement his study of Western Herbal medicine since 1982.

Darrell has apprenticed and taught with David Euler, L.Ac. and Kiiko Matsumoto, Lic. Ac. In addition, he began studying Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA) with Toshikatsu Yamamoto, M.D., Ph.D. in 2004 and has continued to hone his YNSA skills by visiting Dr. Yamamoto in Japan since 2008.

Darrell has taught acupuncture at Harvard Medical School Continuing Education Department’s International Structural Acupuncture Course for Physicians from 2000 to 2016. There he served as a lecturer and clinical instructor, teaching palpation-based acupuncture and Dr. Yamamoto’s YNSA protocols. He has also taught in Germany, Switzerland, Greece and Italy.

Darrell believes that the key to being the most effective practitioner of the art and science of acupuncture is to be a committed continuous learner in this field that is his life’s work and passion.

After completing his Acupuncture Studies in 1989, David specialized in palpation based acupuncture influenced by Japanese styles, mainly Master Nagano and Kiiko Matsumoto, as well as Master Kawai. Blending the Japanese styles of acupuncture with European micro-systems and Low Level Laser therapies became a gentle, yet a very powerful treatment modality.

During his 30 years in clinical practice, he continued developing and integrating concepts learned from Prof. Nadia Volf (auricular causative diagnosis) Dr. Yamamoto (scalp acupuncture) and Prof. Jochen Gleditsch (very point and Microsystems) into the verifiable Palpation-Based style he has adopted.

Recently, David has created a website (www.ohmatopoeia.com) that is developing an art and acupuncture platform, offering CEU/CME credits as well as offering a peek into some art.
