This is an updated course from Debra Betts replacing her older course on Pro D Seminars called the Complete Pregnancy course by Debra Betts.  It has all of the information from her previous course plus loads of updated and new information.

A timeline for planning Acupuncture treatments in Pregnancy: This online course will present a comprehensive and detailed approach to the treatment of women during pregnancy using a week by week guide to treating the pregnant body. This offers information to assist acupuncturists to move away from point prescriptions to individualized treatment: encouraging optimal health during pregnancy and preparation for an efficient labour and postpartum recovery, including:

  • Historical TCM concepts – what remains relevant to today’s practice?
  • Western medical research- understanding the latest research about implantation, pregnancy and labor in order to adapt the most relevant TCM treatment for the different stages of pregnancy.
  • Western medical information about the hormonal and immune changes required for a healthy pregnancy and an efficient labour – their relevance to acupuncture practice.
  • Post-partum recovery – exploring acupuncture's potential from a physiological perspective.

The A - to - Z of Pregnancy Care for Specific Conditions: This presents treatment options for women presenting with specific conditions during pregnancy, labour & post-partum. Specific conditions with a focus on those most relevant to clinical practice; nausea during pregnancy, miscarriage, anemia, pregnancy induced hypertension, breech and posterior positions, heartburn, vulval varicosities, musculoskeletal conditions, induction, labour and breast feeding are covered with relevant Western and Chinese medicine information, the latest evidence based research for these conditions, case histories, with treatment options for difficult cases. Updated treatments options from those previously presented in Debra’s book “The Essential Guide to Acupuncture in Pregnancy & Childbirth” are also included.

Debra Betts is an awesome lecturer; her warmth and passion for her subject shines through her course. Great to hear her present again, I always thoroughly enjoy it and being able to do this online has been a huge help to me as I have a new born bub and wouldn't have been able to do my CPE points without this tool.
Thanks all! ~ Aurelia

This course was good. I already have her book and was hoping for more information not provided in her book. She definitely offered some great clinical pearls that I will be able to use.

Another excellent course from Debra Betts! It's a brilliant combination of theory and practical experience delivered in a well thought out presentation. Just wonderful to learn from Debra and completely applicable to my practice.

Great tips and information, but could be better organized. Debra Betts has a wealth of knowledge and I would highly recommend her courses to anyone wanting to work in pregnancy and child birth.

Debra Betts is a wonderful speaker and very knowledgeable in this topic. A very worthwhile course. I would probably take any course she would teach. My only criticism is that i spent way longer than 15 hours on this course.
